Dislike grocery shopping? Is it just another chore for you? Write your grocery lists to get you in and out as quickly as possible. ⠀

Tip 1 - Organize your grocery list by section

Organize your list by sections of the store. This way you aren’t bouncing back and forth unnecessarily or standing in the middle of an aisle scanning your list up and down to make sure you have everything you need. Don’t be that person that blocks the aisle 😬

Think of your favorite grocery store. Picture the layout. Write down what you need by the sections you pass. For me, I split my list into produce first, grocery, then refrigerated products, and finally frozen. I personally rarely buy things from the deli, but that, the prepared foods area, or bakery could be another section on your list. ⠀

Organizing your list and going in with a game plan is key to maximize your efficiency while grocery shopping. I love grocery shopping, but there are so many other things I could be doing with my time that I like to make it as efficient as possible. ⠀

Tip 2 - Use technology to your advantage

I personally like to use the notes app on my phone with the little check boxes to help me keep track as I go. I don’t have to worry about remembering a pen to cross things off my list and our phones are usually always with us.

Traditional pen and scrap paper are just as good. Whatever you’re comfortable with and works well for you is what is best.⠀

Tip 3 - Plan ahead and go in with a game plan

Grocery shopping can be efficient if you go in with a plan. Your list is key, but how do you know what to put on there? Planning out your meals for the week can be a game changer. Not only does it save you time at the store when you know what you need, but it helps alleviate stress each night when you know what you’re having for dinner and don’t have to stand in the pantry scrounging for ingredients.

You can plan out your meals in as much detail as you like or you can jot down a general idea for each night. It’s really what works best for you and your lifestyle.

You may find it helpful to figure out what you plan to have, determine the ingredients you already have on hand, and then add the ingredients you still need for the meal to your grocery list.
