Who is The Eat With Me RD?
Tara Felser MS, RD is the dietitian behind The Eat With Me RD. I completed my Masters in Nutrition as well as my supervised practice hours at University at Buffalo. Although I have experience in several areas of nutrition and dietetics, I focus primarily on culinary nutrition and plant based eating (vegetarianism, veganism, those curious about vegetarianism/veganism, or those looking to increase the amount of fruits/veggies/plants they’re eating on a regular basis).
What does plant based eating mean?
Plant based eating can mean several different things. One plant based eater may consider themselves to be 100% vegetarian or vegan. A different plant based eater may be a person that puts a heavy focus on plant foods such as vegetables, fruits, legumes, beans, nuts, seeds, and grains while still consuming some meat/animal products. For a more detailed breakdown, check out this post.
So whether you choose to eat a plant based diet for ethical, health, environmental, economical, or whatever other reason, I can help you make sure you’re meeting your nutritional needs (and that what you’re eating is easy to make, affordable, and delicious!).
Do you work with meat eaters?
Certainly! Whether you eat meat/animal products or not, plants are still a big part of our overall diets. While I often work with vegans and vegetarians, if you’re looking to balance your diet with more plants (vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, legumes, grains, etc.), want to establish healthy, sustainable, long-term eating patterns, or learn to cook/prepare plant-based dishes to add to your repertoire, then you will be right at home here. Check out our latest posts here or check out our services/products here.
What will I not find here?
Fad diets or trends. While I focus on plant based eating, I strongly believe a healthy diet is one that you can sustain long term, supports your lifestyle, and promotes your overall health for years to come. I don’t promote fad or crash diets that promise crazy things. I believe in helping you create sustainable eating patterns that support your overall health. To learn a little bit more about my nutrition philosophy as a dietitian, check out this post here that talks about the nutrition myths that really irk dietitians (or at least irk this dietitian!).
What does The Eat With Me RD mean?
As I talk more about in this post, I want to make it plain that as a dietitian I am not the food police or judging you for that side of fries or that cookie . I want you to know that you can eat with me any time. Let’s cook together. Let’s learn together. Let’s share some meals together. Come, eat with me, the RD (registered dietitian)!
